Mother's Day Getaway!

On Friday I worked a LONG 12 hour shift... got off thirty minutes late (which I hate) and was EXHAUSTED. I walked in the door and Bryan told me that he had done something and to use my investigatory skills to figure it out. I looking in the oven because sometimes when I work he gets a pizza and keeps it in there until I get home... but no pizza was there. I looked in the living room and saw nothing. Then I went to our bedroom and there was a empty overnight bag on the bed... and he said "Pack your bag, we're going on a trip!" SO I did, and I was thrilled. He had taken Hudson to G-ma and G-pa's house and we got in the car, grabbed some dinner and headed north. Bryan didn't tell me where we were going until we were in the car.

Soooo... where did he take me?!

Chateau on the Lake in Branson, Missouri which is about 2 hours away from where we live.

We didn't get there until about 10 pm and after dropping our stuff off in our room (which we got upgraded because we arrived so late, sweet!) we went and hung out in the lounge... we met a couple from South Arkansas who were celebrating their anniversary and watched these two drunk girls sing country karaoke, it was pretty entertaining!
The beautiful flowers in the entry way, and the lounge is behind where we hung out!

We got up around 8 the next morning and Bryan surprised me again by telling me that he had scheduled me for an 80 min massage at the hotel's spa! We ate breakfast at the hotel and then I headed to the spa! Next time I will go earlier because they have a sauna and whirlpool, it was really really neat. My massage was wonderful and the PERFECT Mother's Day gift!

Then we drove over to the dam and took some cool pics. The first one is a pic of our hotel from the dam and the second one is us in front of the dam!

We spent the rest of the day at the outlet malls and got Bryan some new work clothes and some new stuff for Hudson. My little surprise getaway was just the refresher that I needed! Thank you so much, B!

We got home around 5 pm and took Hudson swimming at my parent's house for the first time this summer and then they came over and played cards! We love playing Pitch and Spades with my parents, but they always seem to win, oh well!

On Sunday we got up and went to the early service and then went over and ate crab legs with my parents, brother, grandparents and Bryan's parents and sister. I love when our whole family gets to spend time together! Bryan took Hudson swimming again and they went down the slide several times! He loves it!! (PS I stole the next few pictures from my MIL, Janet's blog)

I love these ladies SO much!!! From L-R, My grandma Kathy, my mom, me, Janet and my SIL, Jordan

Finally, I made this little bit of sweetness jar for my mom, I saw the idea on this blog, and kind of changed it a little bit to make it especially for my mom! I filled a jar with her favorite candy and tied little notes to about 50 of the pieces. Some are special memories, scriptures, words of encouragement and prayers... others are just silly things. For a mom who has everything, I thought this was a different and more thoughtful gift! Also, every year for Mother's Day, I take my mom on a Pedicure and lunch date so we are doing that soon too!

I hope you all had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend.... I am one spoiled and blessed momma!!!

  1. The luxurious Jaypee Greens Spa is lone of the the largest part helpful spas in Delhi, India, with the aim of invites you instead of a restorative and refreshing experience to efface the fatigue and weariness of your body. Jaypee’s luxury spa resorts in Delhi India are lone pitstop instead of folks who classify luxury with rejuvenating and unwinding their mind, body and souls.

  2. I love the spa there. We didn't stay for the weekend, but I won some gift certificates so my husband and I both went to for the day. He got a massage and I got a pedi/mani. It was so relaxing! Glad you had a great day.
