Weekend in Review...

We were planning on going to Dallas this weekend for Bryan's uncle's gradution from the State Trooper Academy, but decided last minute (Sat AM) that it was too long of a drive for one day for a 3 year old and a 1 year old. So we hung at home all weekend.

Let's back track to Thursday. We went swimming at my friend Ashleigh's parents house. It was my first time swimming with both boys this summer. We swam with my sweet friends Ashleigh and Katy and their kiddos. I didn't take many pictures because I was in the pool with my boys the whole time, ha. Gone are the days of laying out with a magazine.

Friday the boys and I hung at home because we had a pretty busy week. Friday night we smoked another pizza, it flopped and over cooked so we just ate pizza toppings. I ran 4 miles while it smoked and considered those calories saved for the weekend. Then Bryan and I watched a movie. I love quiet nights at home with him.

Saturday we got up and went to Cracker Barrel. We have a new one right down the road from us and it had been too busy on the weekends to go to, but we got there around 8 on Saturday and there was no wait. It was delish! I had scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. Yum!!
Then we swung by the Farmer's market to get some more blueberries- my very favorite food. We got home and started talking about projects for the day. We are kind of frustrated with our back yard because we have a flooding problem which leads to a muddy yard, muddy dogs and a muddy patio. So we decided to dig a french drain. I didn't take any pictures because I was super dirty but we worked outside until 5 pm. We finished one side of it and now need to do the other side. If it works well we are hoping we can re-sod part of our yard that has died because of the flooding.

Also on Saturday, while Bryan was digging, I mowed for the first time in my life. Believe it or not I am almost 28 years old and had no idea how to use a lawn mower until Saturday. I really didn't mind mowing at all.

Saturday night I was asleep on the couch by 8:30. No joke.

Yesterday we took it easy in the morning, I went on a run in the morning and sweated my face off. It was so hot! I knew I would be eating well at my parent's house so I needed to work off some calories. My great aunt came to town so we spent the afternoon at my parent's house on the lake. I was SO excited because I tried on a pair of my Gap shorts from a few summers ago (Pre-Rhett) and they fit! Right before we went to Annapolis I had tried them on and they were WAY too tight. I couldn't even button them with my Spanx on. Yesterday they fit (without Spanx and with NO muffin top). I love seeing this progress! My parents made Chateaubriand and it was SO good. I was glad that I ran that morning.
My shorts fit!
Bryan and Hudson on the Paddle Board
Grammy let Rhett lick the Mousse cup! He was a fan.
Then we came home and just chilled after the boys went to bed. We had a great weekend. What did you do this weekend?

Happy Monday!

  1. Jenna,
I have followed you for awhile now and you are such an inspiration to me in your weight loss journey. I recently tried a product called Plexus, after YEARS of plateau and not being able to drop weight, my Dr. recommended it. Have you heard anything about it? If so, what do you know? mendyparksathotmaildotcom
