Thoughts of Spring!

Photobucket

Thought I would join in the Thoughts of spring blog party and answer a few questions so that those of you who don't know me can get to know me a little better! There are some awesome giveaways on Lynnette's blog for those of you who want to join, just click the button above! I got the link from my friend Brittany, her blog is adorable, you should check it out too!

About Me
I am Jenna, a mid-twenties (yikes!) mom and wife. I work part time as a nurse on a seniors medical surgical unit in the local hospital, and I love what I do. I have a heart for missions. My (almost) 6 month old son is the light of my life. My husband is my soul mate and best friend. They are the two biggest blessings in my life. I live in the same town where I grew up and where my husband and I met and I love it. It's a small town atmosphere with a lot of the amenities of a large city. We live within 5 minutes of both of our sets of parents, and are glad they are so close to help with the baby! I have recently started crafting, its not something that comes easily to me, but I have been enjoying it. I love to cook. My grandmas and mom have been teaching my since I was young and I am pretty sure that once upon a time they thought it was a worthless cause, but I am glad they didn't give up. I like to run and shop. I love to save money. But the most important thing is that I am a believer in and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything goes back to Him. If you're wanting to know more about me or about Him, please follow my blog- I'm not perfect or even close, but I am honest and would like you to follow our journey.

What is your comfort food/drink?
I love homemade hot cocoa (ill share my recipe soon!) in the winter and limeades in the summer. As for food, homemade noodles has to be my top comfort food. I only get them twice a year when my grandma makes them because Bryan doesn't like them so I don't make them at home.

Be brave – tell us something very random and weird about yourself.
When I am at home I wear my hair in a messy bun on top of my head, to keep it out of my face and out of Hudson's reach. I am always afraid of someone coming to the door or that someone will drive by and see when I am outside with Sadie and turn me in to some kind of a "bad hair" website or show.

Do you have a strong desire to do something you've never done? What is it?
I'd like to sky dive. My hubby got to go last year and I was 5 months pregnant... maybe in the future.

Movies: Action, Drama, Romantic Comedy, Documentary, Comedy? What are your favorite genres?
Romantic comedy and thriller/mysteries.

Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Romance, Biographies, True Stories, Self-Help, Devotional/Study? What are your favorite types of reading material?
I like Devotional/Study for right now, true stories or anything about babies!

Music: Funk, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Film Score, Blues, Classic Rock, Crooner, Alternative, Heavy Metal, Techno? What are your favorite types?
Christian Music. Taylor Swift or Sarah Barielles. Except my running playlist is more rap/pop.

If you inherited a million dollars, what is the first thing you would do with your money?
Pay off Student Loans. Then buy an SUV.
(My grandparents just got one of these Lincoln MKX's, and I love it!)

Name one weakness of yours (confession is good for the soul).
I love anything raw... cookie dough, cake batter, brownie batter, pancake batter, biscuit dough... I'd almost rather eat it raw. My grandma makes me pancakes that are still runny in the middle, my favorite!

If you could live anywhere at all (and take all your loved ones with you), where would you go?
I think I'll stay put. My heart belongs to Bentonville, Arkansas.

What is one of your favorite things to catch a whiff of?
My hubby's cologne... or sweet baby smell.

What is your greatest fear or strange phobia?
My greatest fear is being separated from my family through death, something that I have been learning not to worry about and to leave in the Lord's hands. Phobia: SNAKES AND SPIDERS. ugh.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
I am going to go with the birth of my baby boy. Pretty proud of that.

What is your favorite animal?
My puppy girl, Sadie.

Thanks for reading, and you should join the fun!!

  2. This was a great "get to know you" Jenna! My kin is from the other side of your state in Manila. Have you ever been there? It's a blink and you miss it small town. I love it there. I can see why you hold Arkansas very near and dear to your heart... I do, too.

  3. No I haven't ever been there! Arkansas is a special special state, I think that mainly because people who have never been here have ideas about what it is like, and it is totally different than they think! thanks for reading!

Brittany, thanks for sharing yours and giving me the idea! I meant to put that! *ill edit it in!*

  7. Fun meeting you Jenna! My Arkansas personal trivia fact - I had the biggest hair of my life (ever) in Arkansas, but it was south central Arkansas. HUGE - I'm talking I could hardly find the heavy duty ponytail holder to contain it, lol. Your family is just precious! Have fun at the party... Lisa

  8. Hi Jenna! Your header picture is adorable! So clever. :)

I'm an adrenaline junkie and enjoy many wild adventures, but there is one feeling I can't stomach - free falling. I even dream about it and about die when I'm falling in my sleep. Thus - sky diving is out for me.

My funny hair is when I brush it out. It's really curly and frizzy and when I brush through it, I look like I belong in an insane asylum. Seriously. ha! I do it for entertainment sometimes - just to get a good laugh. :)

So glad you joined the blog party!
Hope you're meeting some really fun new chums.
    Lynnette :)
