My Mommy Hung the Moon

A simple post today to tell my mom how very much I love her.

Wedding Shower
One of my favorite books to read to Hudson is called "My Mommy Hung The Moon: A Love Story" by Jamie Lee Curtis. It starts like this "My mommy hung the moon, she tied it with string. My mommy is good at everything." It goes on to talk about all of the different "hats" a mom wears, all of the tasks that she does and how she does them all the best.
Christmas!

I am so blessed to have the relationship with my mom that I do. I hear so many girls complaining about their moms and I realize that not everyone has what I have. My mom is an amazing Christian woman, she is my number one encourager and fan, she listens to me vent and shares in my excitement. She gives the very best advice. I know I can tell her anything and cry to her and she is going to love me no matter what. If I go more than 24 hours without talking to her I feel like my day is incomplete. I also love that we can share medical stories when the guys don't want to hear our gross stories at dinner.

My mom is my very best friend. I cherish her more every year and now that I have my own child, I understand what she has sacrificed in order to take care of me and my brother over the years. I have also learned that I am 24 and still need her all the time, that her job didn't end when I "grew up".
A month before Hudson was born... I was HUGE
I thank God for blessing me with the sweetest mom who has taught me how to mother my own child. I never ever take our relationship for granted because I know how special it is and she is to me. I read the book and think about how funny and true it is now that I am a mom, but I also realize that I still think my mommy hung the moon, she has taught me so much and I hope my kids can say the same thing about me someday.

The book ends like this "I dream about how she gave me my start. I love my mommy with all of my heart... My mommy hung the moon. She tied it with string. My mommy's good at everything."
On the most special day of my life!
I love you, Mom. I am so excited to be celebrating my 1st Mother's Day with you while you celebrate your 24th!
