Cupcakes and a GIVEAWAY!

I am super excited about today's post!

First, it involves something I love-- Cupcakes...

I am sure you have seen a pictures like this floating around on Pinterest. I decided to try them out, so quick and easy... and pretty moist and delicious too!
recipe from cake found here
But I must be honest... it was the frosting that made the cupcakes...
Even a little boy LOVED him some cupcakes...

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Browned Buttercream Icing
Cupcakes:
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 can of pure pumpkin (15 oz)

-Mix together and bake in cupcake liners at 350 degrees for 14 minutes or until inserted toothpick is clean.

(note: the batter will be thick, but it is ok, if you want you could probably add a little oil, but they don't really need it... also you could add in some pumpkin pie spice to add some flavor, I might try this next time)

Browned Buttercream icing:
10 Tbsp butter (I used nonsalted)
2 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar
2-3 Tbsp milk (I used skim)

-Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat stirring constantly until browned (about 5-7 min)
-Let butter cool almost completely
-Mix cooled butter with powdered sugar and vanilla and 1 tbsp milk.
-Add additional Tbsp (1 at a time) of milk until desired consistency.

Trust me, these are SO easy and delish... the perfect fall treat for any get together. I am going to whip up another batch tomorrow to take to my physical therapy team. They have been so great.

And in other news... I am hosting a scentsy party online through my friend, Shawnda who has previously done giveaways through my blog!

If you don't know about Scentsy... you must find out about it! I got my first scentsy warmer as a wedding present, and now I have three! They are perfect with little kids because there is no open flame. I am obsessed with candles, but now I don't have to worry about Hudson putting his little hands into the flame!

Scentsy makes the PERFECT holiday gift for friends, mothers, sister, cousins... baby shower gifts, wedding presents... etc. and they are very affordable!

I picked some of my favorite products to show you.
I mean really, this is SO cute

Plug in warmer

um hello... yummy smells!

Hudson may be getting one of these for Christmas

Or this one... can't decide!

So here are the details. I am offering ANY holiday Scentsy plug in warmer for FREE for ONE reader with any order purchased over $25. This is a holiday party that I am hosting so PLEASE DO NOT order through Shawnda's website, instead... email me your order and Shawnda will order it all together and get your form of payment. Plus, since you're emailing me your order I will know that you ordered through her and can mark you down as entered for the giveaway.

I will notify the winning person and then they can tell me which plug in they want. It is my holiday gift to you.

So pretty please, scoop up some awesome holiday gifts from Scentsy... and email me your order to jmkbuett (at) gmail (dot) com. There may even be another secret incentive for the first order placed ;). Orders will be placed two weeks from today on Nov. 23rd so you will have plenty of time before Christmas to use your new warmer or wrap up your gifts!

  3. Hey Jenna! Instead of using the yellow cake mix, I use a spice cake mix with the pumpkin puree and it gives the muffins a really nice flavor :)
