How I Save-- College Edition.

Yes, I am still in college. No, I don't want to talk about. Ha, just kidding.

I decided when I went to nursing school that I just wanted to get my Associates Degree in Nursing and finish up my Bachelors online. Bryan and I wanted to get married and only lived on his income for our first 9 months of marriage, so we were ready for two incomes! That all sounded so great 5 years ago... but now that I am back in school I am wishing I would have just finished it back then. So I am half way through my Bachelors Degree in Nursing and hoping to be done next May!

Since it is all online I can work at my convenience, which is nice but school is EXPENSIVE. I am lucky enough that my parents are paying for my schooling still, but I am responsible for paying for my own books, I don't know if you've ever bought books for college-- but they're ridiculously expensive!

That's where today's tip comes in.

You can RENT text books! There is an awesome website Campus Book Rentals that allows you to rent your books instead of having to pay for them and then potentially lose a bunch of money when you sell them back.

There are several perks for renting text books:

-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented

As an example I bought this book last semester for school for (used) $30 + shipping ($46 new!) and now that I know about renting I could have rented it for $21 ($10 less) AND with free shipping both ways. This would also save me in the headache of having to list it, resell it and ship it to the new buyer.

So for all of my readers out there who are like me and still in college... Campus Book Rentals is sharing a 5% off code-- highfive AND if you add them on facebook or twitter they do scholarships, contest giveaways and additional coupon codes.

Happy Monday, hope you all had a great Spring Break! I'm sharing pictures of my dining room and living room tomorrow, stay tuned!
