My Hair Secrets

I wanted to join in the fun SUYL link up on my friend Kelly's blog today because it is one of my most favorite topics (and obsessions).

If I was to be 100% honest with you, I would tell you that the ONE thing about myself that I am almost always pleased with is my hair. A lot of that I owe to my amazing hair stylist of the last seven years. She took a fried and burnt mess of bleach blonde hair and made it SO healthy.

I have naturally wavy hair. I have a lot of hair but it is very fine. I have really, really long hair.

I have an obsession with buying hair products and most of them are pretty expensive.

Let's start with washing. I love Pureology and Biolage. Right now I am being cheap and using Suave Natural Infusions because I got it for free and I like to mix things up a bit. And honestly, you can't even tell a difference.

Above is a picture of all of the products that I love. Paul Mitchell hair spray rocks. Bryan and I share it. I only use hair spray when I wear my hair curly. The brush pictured is a Wet Brush. Nikki told me about it a few years ago and it has changed my life. Seriously. It makes brushing wet and tangled hair a breeze. You can get them on Amazon for super cheap too.

When I straighten my hair I always use a heat protector (above is the pink Vidal Sassoon). Oscar Blandi knows his dry shampoo. I used my SIL Kacee's on vacation last year and fell in love. I use the Matrix shine milk no matter what, every time I wash my hair I spray that on before I brush it, I've done that for ten years probably. When I wear my hair straight I use Moroccan oil.

Nikki, my friend & hair stylist, sold me on the Moroccan oil curl cream a few months ago and it is amazing, I use that and the Frizz-Ease mousse when I scrunch my hair and use the diffuser (pic below). TIP: ALWAY diffuse with head upside down!

When my hair is curly, it is BIG. I don't wear it like this very often, although I really like it and it is a lot easier. I totally should.
Most days lately I have been blow drying the top and getting my hair almost dry but letting it have a little natural wave. I don't like to add heat (aka my straightener) to my hair if I don't have to.
This is what my hair looks like if I let it dry completely on its own. Some days I can get away with it and just pin back the front... other days it goes in a bun.

If I blow dry it with my big round brush and use my flat iron on a few places this is what it looks like (this doesn't happen often either)
And if I was going to be completely honest with you, most at-home days it is in a bun on top of my head. Rhett LOVES to pull my hair and it is so long that in the summer it is HOT. Nikki gets onto me for this almost every time I see her.
Obviously I don't take my pictures like this because this was the only one I could find and I was pregnant with Rhett in this picture. Ha.
Oh and my heat tools: U-Smooth Straightener, Babyliss Ceramic Blow dryer and a one-inch Nano Silver Curling Iron....

Which reminds me that sometimes I curl my hair with a curling iron too... very, very rarely.
I had to screen shot my IG. That's how long it's been.
So those are my hair tips and a lot of really random pictures of me! I can't wait to see what everyone else does!
