Sweet Sunshine & Random Tuesday

How about some randomness for your Tuesday? I numbered them for organization... but I don't really think the numbers matter so you can ignore them if you so wish...

1. I worked and worked and worked all day yesterday. I hung pictures, unpacked boxes and organized closets until I was blue in the face.  I have always complained about not having enough closet space here and realized the other day that I never use the top shelves in the closets mainly because I am short and can't reach them. So I went and bought cute matching baskets to keep all of my linens in and made use of the top shelf in the master closet. Voila! I'm not sure why this took me 4 years to figure out. Now I need to do it in every closet.

We also rearranged our dining room, aka my office area, and incorporated a couch, I don't have things hung above it yet, but once I do I will share pictures. So we moved my desk to the opposite wall right by the window and I love how it turned out. And love being able to open the window and have some fresh air while I "work".
2. I got my second Rocksbox yesterday! You can still use code- jennabuettemeyerxoxo for a month free! So fun! It literally is like Christmas every time it comes! I've got another Stitch Fix coming on Thursday too! WOOT!
3. Last night Bryan and I worked on putting the swingset back together while the boys played. I snapped this picture of them and realized pretty quickly that before I know it they'll be 16 and 14 and this will be a real car (not a mercedes) and this makes me want to hold onto them SO tightly. I really am enjoying age 4 and most days enjoying age 2... it makes all the difference to be able to let them go outside and run out all of their energy! There is really nothing like sunshine for the soul and I wish it was summer all the time but I realize that if that was the case we wouldn't appreciate it as much as we do when coming out of winter (so true for so many other things in our lives too)...
4. I mentioned last week that I felt like God was bringing me to a season of contentment. One of my running buddies mentioned a few weeks ago that she was reading "Seven" by Jen Hatmaker and I knew in my heart God was telling me to read it too. I bought it this morning for my kindle and started reading after my quiet time. I can tell it's going to be good and rock my soul.
That's all I've got for today. The boys and I are meeting some friends at the park this morning and then going on our run. I'm soaking in all the sunshine I can get!  Happy Tuesday and Happy St. Patty's Day! I need to go dig out some green for my boys to wear today!

  1. I've been enjoying reading your blog for a while now, but this my first time commenting. Anyhoo...about five years ago, my husband and I went through something similar as your house situation. We had a contract on ours, had signed a contract (and had done an inspection, set a closing date, etc.) on a house we were SO EXCITED to move into, and then everything just fell apart, and we ended up having to walk away. Most of our stuff was in boxes already, and we pretty much had to unpack and set all of our stuff back up. It was tough. We were bummed. However, that whole experience allowed paved the way for some other things we wouldn't have been able to "pull off" if we had purchased that house. I'll keep you in my prayers during this "season of contentment." (And congrats on your body transformation. Very inspiring!!)
