Happy Mother's Day!

I could write a novel, a poem and a song... I could be all sentimental and mushy and tell y'all that my mom is the best (because, duh, she is...)... and not only is she a great mom but also a great "Grammy" to my boys...

But what I'll really share is that ALL that I wanted for Mother's Day this year was a whole day with my mom. When Bryan asked me not ONE material thing came to mind that I wanted. But what I did want was a whole day-- no kids, no itinerary... but shopping, lunch and probably ice cream with MY mom... because what the last three years have taught me is that "things" don't matter. Relationships and people matter. My mom is my best friend in the universe and I don't get to spend the time with her that I want to... so I called her last weekend and told her to keep Saturday free because we were spending the day together...

I am a blessed girl to have a mom who loves me so much and has always supported me 100%. I am so glad to have a mom that I want to spend time with and who wants to spend time with me.

But this Mother's Day... while I am celebrating MY mom... I am also missing my bonus mom (my mother in law) and my Grandma so much and having to deal with the emotions of my husband and mom who are having a very hard time on Mother's Day without their moms.

So this Mother's Day, I encourage you, to spend time with your mom if she is still around. You never know when you might not get another Mother's Day with her.

And to my Mom... I love you so much. Thanks for being you. God knew what he was doing when He gave me YOU as a mom. I am so proud to be yours.
