Holiday Weekend In Review!
Friday we had a playdate with our friends. Now that the kids are getting older and half of them are in school we take advantage of scheduled days off to let them all play together! We started at Rebecca's house and ended at McDonalds. It was a fun morning and helps to pass the time with friends.
Friday night we took it easy. Bryan and the boys played while I made dinner and then Tony and CJ came to eat with us.
Saturday I got up and ran 7 miles with Rebecca and Katy. I can't believe we're to this part of our training again. Then we had a surprise visitor. One of my best friends since birth, Sarah, sent her mom over and "facetimed" me and Hudson to ask us to be in her wedding this fall! Of course we said yes! She was a bridesmaid in my wedding too! Hudson's still not really sure what this is going to entail but we told him he got to dress up like a spy and he was on board.
Then we ended up with both boys in the walk-in clinic again for ear pain, and turns out they BOTH had ear infections! Ugh. Poor buddies. So Saturday night everyone went to bed early!
Sunday I got up and set out the boy's Valentine stuff. It's so fun doing little surprises for them for holidays!
Then we met our friends, the Sears, at Crystal Bridges to enjoy art. Between us we have 6 kids and they did amazing. I laughed at this picture that I took of my "Crazy Valentines" because it really shows their funny personalities... and also this is always what happens when I say "Say Cheese".
Katy and I laughed because we both showed up wearing demin shirts with black pants and booties. Totally "twinning".
One of the little boys in Hudson's class had a swim birthday party on Sunday afternoon so I took him to that. He loved swimming with his best friend, Ethan. I'm so sad they won't be at the same school next year.
Then Sunday night we met for Narrative at the Sears' house and made dinner together. I loved looking in and seeing these kids chowing down at the table together. Most of them have been friends since they were babies. We joined in the group when Hudson was 1 so these are the friends he's known his whole life. These kids are best friends. I love them and their parents and how much they mean to our family.
Yesterday, because we hadn't seen enough of our friends over the weekend, ha ha ha, we had them over for Rhett's Birthday playdate. Instead of doing a big party, we just invited them over for a play date and cupcakes. We'll have a big party for him with our family this weekend on his birthday but this was super fun to celebrate with our friends.
