The Faithful One. When It Wasn't Meant to Be. And 26 weeks!

As I was driving yesterday I was reminding of a song that Bryan and I had his stepbrother and his wife sing at our wedding. It talks about the Faithfulness of God in our lives (Faithful One by Selah and Christy Nockles). We saw that in our friendship/dating relationship... and I thought the song spoke volumes about us... little did I know that God would reveal his faithfulness to us over and over again in the next 8 years in bigger and harder and more painful ways than we could ever imagine.

In March we found out that we were expecting our third baby- a Thanksgiving day baby.
And just a week or so later we lost that baby before we'd even told anyone that we were expecting. Although it was brief, it still shook me to my core. I was healthier than when I got pregnant with Hudson or Rhett and it just wasn't supposed to happen this way.

It's been on my mind this week a lot. That that baby would probably be here by now. But it isn't.

But God IS faithful. As I am typing I feel kicking and squirming from my rainbow baby that God blessed us with, somewhat unexpectedly, just two months later. And as this due date passes and his due date approaches,  I am sad but also joyful. That baby wasn't meant to be here with us, but this one is and I rejoice every time that I feel him squirm and move and hear his sweet heartbeat- a complete miracle from God.

Anyways, it's just been on my heart and mind this week. What might have been that wasn't meant to be. I'm reminded of God's faithfulness in my life. And counting down the days until I get to hold this baby boy in my arms.

So I'll follow that up with my 26 week post.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 26 weeks 3 days

Size of baby: Baby is the size of an Eggplant. 14 inches, 2 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. Just yes. And Bryan's t-shirts... which are now starting to have some belly hang. It's a glamorous life. ;)

Gender: Baby BOY! Sawyer Anthony.

Movement: Yes all the time. I am carrying him super low and he is starting to move from side to side occasionally- it's THE weirdest feeling.

Sleep: Up going to the bathroom at 11:30, 2, 4 EVERY single night. Like I look at the clock and it's always at the same time.

What I miss: Not peeing 12x a night. Bryan and I always compare our fitbits in the morning and his is like all blue with no waking up and 7.5 hours of sleep and mine is full of "wake up" lines and like 6 hours of sleep. ha! The joys of pregnancy. It's just preparing me to be up with a newborn in a few months!

Cravings: Coffee. Carbs. Scrambled Eggs. Weird stuff!

Symptoms: Indigestion and headaches this week. Probably because I am trying to wean myself of the massive amounts of caffeine I was drinking last week.

Best Moment this week: I had my 26 week check up on Monday. I am measuring slightly ahead and his heart rate was 157. Everything looks great, my blood pressure was good.

We are heading to Little Rock today to be with Jordan and David and Lucy for Thanksgiving. So Thankful for all God has done in Lucy's little life and can't wait to see the big things He will continue to do.

Have a happy Wednesday and a super great Thanksgiving!
