Get Fit 2015

Well I started out last year with the hashtag #getfit2014 and wrote this post on January 15 where the first line says, "So for the 4th year in a row (maybe more??) I want to lose weight this year but more than the number on the scale I want to focus on getting fit and healthy."
A few weeks later I wrote my first "what I am doing" post here.

As most of you know, I worked my booty off to achieve this in 2014, but I didn't really get into it until May 2014. I went through comparison pictures yesterday and made a little collage.

How did I do this? My plan in my original posts last year weren't 100% what ended up working for me. In May I started Weight Watchers. I needed the accountability of the weigh ins. Also in June I started PiYo. A lot of my initial success came from those two things. I haven't lost a lot of weight since September but I have gained plenty of muscle and dropped clothes sizes. Also in July I became a BeachBody coach. I went through this morning and counted the number of people I've helped start their own fitness journey.

I've helped 155 people as of this morning get started (or continue) on their journey to better health and fitness through BeachBody. That AMAZES me.

But besides BeachBody, I became a Weight Watchers leader in September and co-lead weekly meetings of around 30-40 people. I LOOOOOOOOOVE doing this so much and I love working for two companies who I believe in.

2014 has brought so much and I can't wait to see what 2015 has to offer!!

So Let's Talk Stats.
I didn't take measurements in January or even in May when I first started. I so wish I would have. But I did take measurements when I started PiYo in June. I am down (as of this morning) TWENTY inches over all since those first measurements. That includes over 3 inches off my waist and 5 inches off my hips!!!

I'm down 23 lbs from my starting weight in May. I'm down 3 pants sizes (33/34 to 30/31!). Went from an XL T-shirt to a S/M.
But more than measurements or pounds, let's talk about how I feel. I have more self-confidence than I knew possible. I feel SO much better in my own skin. It's fun to get dressed again and be able to buy smaller clothes because my other clothes are too big. I can run and play with my kids and I am setting a good example of health for them. More than anything I did this for my kids. And I also love that I look better for my husband.

Am I where I want to be? NO! I still have another 30 lbs to lose this year. I've started eating Gluten Free again this last week and just working on eating more whole foods. I've got several challenge groups starting in the new year, from healthy/clean eating to Shakeology to the numerous different programs BeachBody has to offer.

And the last thing I will tell you. This year and this journey has NOT been easy. I've busted my booty working out almost every day and some times twice a day. My metabolism sucks. If I have a splurge day I can gain two lbs. I have to watch every single bite I take. But has it been worth it? YOU BETCHA! I wouldn't take back one workout or salad. I actually feel sick now when I don't eat healthy so I know it's so much better for my body in the long run anyways.

All of that to say, if you want to make 2015 your year of transformation, DO IT. Start today. I don't care if you do a BeachBody program or Weight Watchers, but find something that works for you. Don't look back at the end of 2015 disappointed in yourself. But if you want me to help you find a Beach Body program or get started in Weight Watchers (OR BOTH, like I do!)
